Oxford Violins

Oxford Violins was set up in 1983 by Michael Kearns, Mark Yakoushkin and Bruno Guastalla in the City of Oxford, renowned for its musical life. The way we work reflects our curiosity towards the great instruments of the 17thC and 18thC luthiers. In the short film below by Dariusz Dziala, violinist Michael Bochmann plays Bach's Gigue from the D minor Partita on a violin made by Bruno Guastalla in 2008. The film is peppered with pictures of different stages in the building of the instrument. Filmed in the workshop at Oxford Violins in November 2008.
